NEW YORK — Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Explorer Post 601 volunteered at the Rockaways Polar Plunge, hosted by Special Olympics New York.
The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Explorer Post 601 recently volunteered at the 2025 Rockaways Polar Plunge, hosted by Special Olympics New York. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising event for the organization. It provides inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, allowing them to compete in Olympic-style, coached sports.
Our Post played an essential role in this event, contributing to its success and raising awareness for a great cause. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) Explorer Post 2100 and the 100th Precinct Community Affairs Bureau supported coordinating this community service event for the Post, forming a collaborative effort that strengthened community ties.
HSI New York's Explorer Post 601 is a youth program dedicated to introducing youths to potential careers in federal law enforcement. Through this program, participants gain hands-on training, develop leadership skills, and engage in various community service activities, fostering personal and professional growth.
